Recognition for our contribution to the "1 million commitments for the cimate" initiative
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Ecology and Development Foundation (ECODES) have contacted the FCC Group to thank us for contributing to the historic agreement reached at the Paris Climate Change Conference, which aims to limit global warming to less than 2 degrees by the end of this century.
Thank you message:
THANK YOU!
A historic agreement was reached at the Paris Climate Change Conference. It was not what many wanted, although it was a lot more than what everyone thought was going to happen. According to Ban Ki-Moon, the agreement opens an ever-advancing path towards a low-carbon economy. All countries worldwide collaborating from the same perspective: to maintain global warming to below 2 degrees and to curb the increase to 1.5 degrees.
There were many people who pushed for the agreement, notably the governments that were present at the conference. However, the immense power of those absent at the Paris Conference was also evident: companies and individuals who have actively propelled the global movement #ForTheClimate. This includes the FCC Group. Thank you so much for encouraging and helping to secure this historic agreement from your sphere of responsibility. Without your mobilisation, without the actions of thousands of companies and millions of people worldwide who had taken a pro-climate stance before the Paris Conference, the governments would have surely drawn up a less solid agreement.
We have submitted a book containing all of the names of individuals and companies who have committed to the ONE MILLION COMMITMENTS FOR THE CLIMATE initiative to the Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Christiana Figueres. Ms. Figueres has expressed her warmest congratulations for the initiative and it is only fair to pass on her message: Your company has helped pave the way towards a new era characterised by a low-carbon economy. Thank you very much.
Now all of the countries, organisations and individuals must execute coherent actions with the primary global aim set out in the agreement: to limit the planet's increase in temperature to 1.5 degrees. Let's continue taking action #ForTheClimate.
Best wishes,
Team #ForTheClimate
