Carlos M. Jarque, CEO of FCC, recently visited Panama to get a first-hand view of the current status of our projects and meet with managers and staff of the Citizens Services Group. During his stay in the Central American country, Jarque held meetings with senior local authorities, most notably with the President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela.
During his first visit as CEO of FCC to Panama, Mr Jarque was given details of the projects the Group is currently undertaking in the country, two of the most prominent being La Ciudad de la Salud (the largest hospital in Central America and the Caribbean) and Line 2 of the Panama Subway, as well as assessing prospects for future tenders.
At the meeting with Juan Carlos Varela, President of the Republic of Panama, the Chief Executive Officer of FCC expressed our Citizen Service Group’s determination and responsibility to revive the Ciudad De La Salud project, as well as our continuing commitment to the country and interest in participating in future projects, such as Bridge 4 or a new subway line in the capital. The CEO of FCC also held meetings with other members of the government, as well as with various diplomatic representatives stationed in the Central American country.
Likewise, Jarque took advantage of his visit to meet with FCC Group executives and employees to explain his strategy and to personally hear their opinions about current projects in different areas and to discuss the future of the Group in Panama and other Central American countries where it operates.
Furthermore, in the various meetings he held with FCC Central America managers and employees, the Chief Executive of the Group showed his support in promoting the various projects, while also learning first hand of the projects they are working on for the future. It was also an opportunity for members of the team to voice their opinions and suggestions in an open dialogue with Mr Jarque.
