Dariem del Pozo, a Cuban stylist, and Pablo Rodríguez Sierra, General Manager of Júbilo Group, were recently invited to participate in the Friday lecture series held at Nuestra Casa retirement home in Collado Villalba (Madrid), organised by FCC's volunteer programme under the Corporate Responsibility Department and the Esther Koplowitz Foundation.

Del Pozo, an expert stylist with a lengthy career in the industry, delighted the large group of attendees with a pleasant lecture, which was followed by a wide-ranging discussion, during which residents expressed great interest in his styling tips and clothing colour preferences.

The residents also enjoyed the presentation by Pablo Rodríguez Sierra, General Manager of Júbilo Group, which belongs to the Planeta publishing group, specialised in content for seniors and the professionals that care for them.

Rodríguez Sierra's talk was entitled "Life experience", during which he discussed personal growth, and referenced in particular the story of professor Randy Pausch. Rodríguez Sierra played Pausch's famous video, "The last lecture", which shows Pausch's positive attitude despite being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Pausch died six months after the recording. The video was subsequently turned into a best-selling book.
