FCC Ámbito, awarded for environmental excellence
The Government of Aragon has acknowledged the value of 14 companies operating in the autonomous region that demonstrate continuous commitment through the environmental audit system.
FCC Ámbito, through Ecoactiva de Medio Ambiente, was one of the recipient companies of this recognition of excellence for its environmental conduct and for being one of the Aragonese companies with the EMAS community audit system, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
For this reason, the European Commission, through INAGA, wanted to acknowledge its environmental contribution by awarding distinctive certificates.
Excellence in environmental performance, over and above regulations, credibility, social and business responsibility, and transparency in the execution of their activity are the distinguishing characteristics that mark out the 14 companies operating in Aragon that accepted recognition for their continuous commitment to the EMAS environmental audit system, in a ceremony chaired by Modesto Lobón, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Environment of the Government of Aragon.
Ecoactiva de Medio Ambiente, originally founded under the name of Eurorresiduos in 1991, is part of the industrial waste division of the FCC Group. It is responsible for the technical management of the hazardous waste safety tank, located close to Zaragoza, as well as for managing the transfer station, and the inertisation and solidification plant.
The EMAS register is a community-wide voluntary environmental management and audit scheme, which helps companies and organisations improve the efficiency of their resource management, reduces risks and demonstrates an exemplary commitment to care and respect for the environment.
