FCC improves the energy performance of his headquarters building in Las Tablas (Madrid)

As part of its commitment to sustainable development, the sensible management of resources and the search for innovative solutions to improve respect for the environment, the FCC Group has implemented an energy management system based on the ISO-50001 standard in its headquarters in Las Tablas (Madrid).

FCC improves the energy performance of his headquarters building in Las Tablas (Madrid)

This system requires the measurement of energy consumption across the building to help identify unforeseen increases. Once alerted to an increase proposals can be developed to improve the energy performance.

During 2015-2016, FCC improved the energy efficiency of its headquarters, notably reducing the consumption of natural gas and electricity. The energy efficiency measures taken during this period were:

  • Optimising the lighting and HVAC settings during weekends and holidays.
  • Installing meters to measure the main consumption.
  • Optimising the contracted power contracted.
  • Renewing equipment with greater efficiency (LED lighting in car parks).

These measures reduced CO2 emissions with a 32% decrease in natural gas use and 6% decrease in electricity use.
