FCC participates in World No Tobacco Day, 31 May
For another year, FCC is participating in World No Tobacco Day, held world-wide on 31 May. The objective is to raise awareness of the health risks associated with tobacco consumption and promote the application of effective public policies to reduce this consumption.
Abandoning tobacco consumption results in a substantial improvement in the quality of life from health and economic perspectives. Recovering lung capacity, the senses of taste and smell, the positive effects on the skin and dental health and the radical reduction of the possibilities of developing health problems in the cardiorespiratory system are some of the important benefits that the World Health Organisation (WHO) emphasises with the purpose of abandoning the tobacco habit.
FCC also joins the campaign launched by the WHO. The theme of World No Tobacco Day 2017 is Tobacco, a threat to development. The campaign aims to show that the tobacco industry compromises the sustainable development of all countries, including the health and economic well-being of their citizens. In addition, measures are proposed for the fight against the world-wide crisis, caused by the tobacco habit, that must be adopted by authorities and public opinion to promote health and development.
