FCC working for social integration
As part the social action policies drafted by the Corporate Human Resources department, and in line with FCC's commitment to the communities which it serves, the company's Environmental Services Department in Madrid held a seminar on the homeless on 20-21 December. The seminar is part of the framework of cooperation between FCC, which holds the street cleaning contract in Madrid, and the city's emergency social services (Samur Social).
The seminar was given by Darío Pérez Madera, Head of Samur Social and Madrid's Services for the Homeless, and was coordinated by Miguel Ángel Garrido Simón, Head of FCC Street Cleaning in the Madrid districts of Tetuán and Fuencarral.
Along the same lines, and on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December), FCC's Environmental Services Department in Madrid held its first Seminar to Raise Awareness about Disabilities, with FSC-Inserta's Madrid Office. Participants included the Director of FSC-Inserta's Madrid Office, Olga Navarro Treviño, and FSC-Inserta staff María Pastor Pastor and José Ignacio Gimeno Pérez. FCC was represented by Raúl Pérez Vega, Director of the Environmental Services Department, as well as José Ignacio Fernández Carpintero and many employees, both operational and managerial.
This event further supports the implementation of the Inserta Agreement, signed by FCC in November 2010 to integrate people with disabilities into the company.
