Flightcare provides free handling for Dutch Red Cross flight of people with disabilities who visited Valencia
Flightcare, an FCC Group subsidiary specialised in ramp, passenger and cargo handling at airports, sponsored an initiative last Friday at Manises airport in Valencia which was organised by the Dutch Red Cross.
At 10 am, an Air France-KLM flight arrived carrying approximately 70 passengers with chronic illness or disabilities, about 20 of them in wheelchairs, who were planning a special day in Valencia. They were accompanied by personnel from the Red Cross and KLM, as well as doctors, nurses, relatives, and Dutch journalists.Aena and Flightcare coordinated their services to handle the flight.
Flightcare's corporate headquarters, Aena's east coast centre, the Flightcare supervisors at the airport and the rest of the personnel involved in flight handling made every effort and worked in close cooperation on this special operation, which the Dutch Red Cross has been conducting for 40 years.
For a few hours, the special passengers were able to forget their cares thanks to the organisation of the Red Cross, the solidarity of KLM and the resources and personalised attention of Flightcare, which provided—at no cost—a full handling service adapted to the special needs of the aircraft and its passengers.
Flightcare currently operates at 14 airports in Europe, and Valencia is one of the Spanish airports where it provides handling services. It attends to over 250 airlines worldwide, handling 324,050 aviation movements and more than 34 million passengers per year. It also handles more than 333,000 tonnes of cargo per year.
