Bayón, who holds a PhD in law and is Counsel to the Spanish Council of State and Parliament, spoke about his passion for music in a presentation entitled "The lyrics and music of Spanish operettas."

He started by thanking Esther Koplowitz for the invitation to speak and highlighted her leadership at, and commitment to, FCC. Then he spoke about some of the most important moments in the history of Spanish operetta ("zarzuela"), and played a selection of music from a sub-genre known as "género chico".

After his talk, Bayón was presented with the customary speaker gift, a painting by Down's Syndrome children in Madrid, and he presented CDs of zarzuelas to the residents.
