Juan Béjar visits waste collection and cleaning depot in Barcelona
As part of his schedule of meeting with management teams in FCC's business areas, Juan Béjar, Vice-Chairman and CEO of FCC, visited the Barcelona waste collection and cleaning depot, where the Barcelona Field Office and machinery pool are located. He also visited the IT department, which manages the work routes for all the Barcelona contracts.
He was accompanied on his visit by Jordi Payet, General Manager of FCC Medio Ambiente; Pau Martín, manager of Field Office I; and Xavier Martín, Manager of the Barcelona City and Balearic Islands Zone.
Jordi Payet, Pau Martín and Xavier Martín informed the CEO about the main contracts managed from the Barcelona office, and the strategies used to maintain or increase market share in the autonomous regions in its catchment area.
The Barcelona fleet currently comprises 439 vehicles, 263 of which run on compressed natural gas and 105 are hybrid electric vehicles, which greatly reduce pollutant and noise emissions; there are also 15 back-loading hybrid waste compactor trucks with 6 m3 capacity, one side-loading hybrid waste compactor truck with 21 m3 capacity, and 89 battery-powered ancillary cleaning vehicles.
FCC has installed 12 recharging points for hybrid vehicles, 135 charging stations for electric vehicles, and 48 refill points for compressed natural gas.
