FCC Environment’s zero-emission electrical vehicles attract major interest at the 2017 Ecofira environmental fair
FCC Medio Ambiente (the Spanish brand for FCC Environment) participated in the Environmental Solutions Fair (Ecofira) in Valenciaon 28th, 29th and 30th November. The electric vehicles, to be incorporated in the refuse collection and street cleansing services of Valencia City, with technology developed by FCC Medio Ambiente’s Machinery Department led by the engineer Alfonso García García, were a major attraction at this international event.
The numerous visitors to Ecofira who showed interest in FCC’s innovative technological offer included the Vice-President of the Generalitat (Government of Valencia region), Mónica Oltra, and the Councillor for Agriculture, the Environment, Climate Change and Rural Development, Elena Cebrián. Accompanied by the General Director for Climate Change, Joan Piquer, the General Director for Employment, Cristina Moreno, and the President of Feria Valencia, José Vicente González, they listened to the explanations of Alfonso García on the silent operations and zero pollutant emissions of the electric vehicles developed by FCC.
Other visitors to FCC Medio Ambiente’s stand included the Regional Secretary for the Environment and Climate Change, Julià Álvaro; the Deputy Mayor of Castellón, Ali Brancal; the Councillor and General Coordinator of the Environment and Climate Change Area of Valencia City Council, Pilar Soriano; the Mayor of Xàtiva and President of the COR, Roger Cerdá, the Secretary of the Consortium, Sergi Pérez and the Mayor of Font de la Figuera, Vicent Muñoz. All attendees showed great interest in the progress of the vehicles that will contribute to reducing emissions more effectively, in order to reduce global warming.
The presence of FCC Medio Ambiente in Ecofira validates the company’s firm position in initiatives that improve quality of life for people through the road to sustainability and the concept of the smart city.
