Marepa obtains first AENOR certification for confidential document destruction

Marepa, a subsidiary of FCC Ámbito, is the first company to be certified by AENOR under the UNE: EN 15713 "Secure destruction of confidential material" standard.

Emerging legal requirements regarding confidentiality require new work methods to ensure the destruction of "sensitive" material. Certification to the EN 15713 standard assures confidential destruction of all types of material in accordance with a series of requirements and security measures during both transportation and destruction, ensuring a level of disintegration that renders the information indecipherable, in conformity with the legislation and European standards in this area.

Marepa, which is part of the FCC Ámbito division, is the FCC Citizen Services company that is devoted to recycling paper, plastic, wood, and other materials; it also offers a service for the confidential destruction of information, files and stocks.

Marepa's central facilities in Fuenlabrada are equipped to fully dispose of document media (paper or electronic) while guaranteeing confidentiality throughout the process. The closed system, equipped with security measures and closed-circuit TV, ensures that material is destroyed confidentially and securely. The company has a fleet of trucks to collect material from the client's premises.

The destruction facility is also equipped to provide confidential secure destruction of bootleg goods, clothing, surplus stocks, seized stocks, etc.

With its extensive network of facilities throughout Spain, Marepa enables clients to deal with a single manager for hazardous and non-hazardous waste nationwide.
