Message from Carlos M. Jarque regarding World Environment Day
Dear colleague,
At FCC we are responsible for and respectful to the environment. Our Group works each day to become a leading actor in the transformation of the cities in which we are present. 80% of our income comes from the environmental services and integral water cycle management business areas, so we must work together on actions that care for the planet. One of our core values is our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.
We wish to join in the celebration of World Environment Day again this year. It is a date first set by the United Nations in 1972, and it is a link that serves to make society aware of environmental matters, encouraging people to become active agents for sustainable development.
This year the theme of World Environment Day focuses on the connection between people and nature - “I’m with Nature” – and our Group is supporting this initiative with an Instagram photo competition which is open to everyone.
With this action, FCC is stating its concern for environmental sustainability and increasing awareness in favour of actions that care for the environment. I invite you to take part, to photograph the landscapes around you and share your images.
Caring for the environment is a question of awareness and responsibility. To conserve it we need the participation and collaboration of everyone. With a single action we can contribute to changing the world. The planet is counting on us all.
