New agreement with Ricoh to rationalise printers and photocopiers

In line with strategies for environmental sustainability and cost optimisation, the Information Systems and Technologies Division has started a project to extend the rationalising of the image processing devices currently provided in the head office buildings to all FCC head offices in Spain.

New agreement with Ricoh to rationalise printers and photocopiers

For this it has signed an agreement with Ricoh, a world leader in managed printing services, under which the new supplier will provide the service from October in each head office with FCC staff and will progressively migrate all the image handling devices – printers, photocopiers, scanners and fax machines.

In all of these, the old devices will be replaced with other, latest generation ones, suitable for business use and equipped with the most advanced technologies, thus considerably reducing power consumption as well as paper and toner. Using centralised management, limited printing policies will be applied for special uses such as colour and high quality printing.

The project involves the installation of shared printers with personal use restricted to specific profiles (cashiers, dispatches, customer service, etc). The new model guarantees the confidentiality of the printed documents by setting the push printing mode (printing with personal identification).

The supplier will take full charge of the service which includes:

  •  Optimised re-design of each office.
  •  Installation of new equipment.
  •  On-site user training.
  •  Preventive and corrective maintenance.
  •  Assistance for incidents.
  • Supply of consumables (except paper).
  • Removal and environmental handling of used consumables and old devices.

In the coming months, Information Systems and Technologies will send a customised communication to each office with information prior to the deployment, giving details of the functioning of the new service.

Finally, it should be noted that any new printing need must be coordinated with the IT managers in the businesses or through the Information Systems and Technologies Division.
