Participate in European Mobility Week
In line with its commitment to sustainability and to improving quality in cities, and with its Strategic Plan for Road Safety, FCC encourages you to participate in the activities organised in your area on the occasion of European Mobility Week, to be held from 16 to 22 September under the slogan: “Moving in the Right Direction”.
Please feel free to let us know how you participate, by sending an email to the FCC Safety Department at (DireccionPRL@fcc.es).
This European Union initiative seeks to raise awareness about the negative impacts on health and the environment of the irrational use of cars in cities, and to promote the benefits of using more sustainable means of transport, such as public transport, cycling and walking.
This year's theme is Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMP), which define a set of measures designed to satisfy the mobility needs of people and businesses in cities by balancing environmental quality, economic development and social equality.
Based on the work done in recent years, European Mobility Week projects have become established at European level, as evidenced by the large number of cities that participate voluntarily in implementing these projects on a permanent basis.
In Spain, the campaign is being coordinated nationwide by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, under the slogan Participate in your city's Mobility Plans: Move in the right direction!. To date, 550 Spanish cities have presented proposals and activities for the week, making it the country with the largest level of participation (followed by Austria, with 539 participating cities).
