2026 begins with four contract extensions that strengthen our presence in key regions of Spain —Galicia, Castile and León, the Region of Murcia and the Balearic Islands— and which amount to a portfolio of more than 440 million euros

The final fortnight of 2025 brought excellent news for Aqualia in Spain, with four major renewals achieved thanks to the trust placed in our company by institutional clients —trust earned through the outstanding work of all the teams involved.

The contract extensions secured in Vigo (Galicia), Salamanca (Castile and León), Los Alcázares (Region of Murcia) and Sant Joan de Labritja (Balearic Islands) provide us with a portfolio worth more than 440 million euros and will allow us to continue delivering top-quality service to over 480,000 people.

Vigo, where Aqualia has managed the service since 1991, has opted to maintain our management until 2030. The portfolio associated with this highly significant and emblematic contract for our company —through which we will continue serving around 295,000 residents— amounts to nearly 273 million euros.

Salamanca will also continue its water cycle management with Aqualia, in this case until 2031. Operating since 1997, it is another of the company’s major long-standing services. In this new period, we will also drive the development of a new Innovation Centre at the municipal WWTP. The contract contributes a portfolio of almost 120 million euros and will enable us to keep providing service to around 160,000 people.

Los Alcázares, where Aqualia has managed the service since 1987, will continue under our stewardship for water supply and sewerage services until 2032, with several network improvements to be incorporated. This municipality, marked by strong seasonality, serves more than 20,400 residents —rising to 88,000 in summer— and contributes a portfolio of around 32 million euros.

Sant Joan de Labritja has decided to extend end-to-end water management with Aqualia until 2037, through a contract valued at nearly 17.5 million euros. In this area, where population dispersion and tourism pressure present particular challenges, we will continue providing service to around 7,000 residents.

We would like to extend our congratulations to all the teams involved in the management of these services. Your dedication, professionalism and continuous commitment have made it possible to consolidate and renew key concessions that ensure high-quality supply and efficient integrated water cycle management in each municipality. Thank you for continuing to drive, day by day, the excellence that defines us.
