Aqualia has been awarded the management of drinking water and sanitation services in 15 municipalities in the Brittany region (France) for a period of 12 years. The contract, valued at €47.8 million, includes the establishment of a new agency in Questembert and upgrades to wastewater treatment plants.

The award was based on technical and economic criteria and foresees revenues of €3.66 million in the first year. Aqualia will deploy solutions such as smart metering and artificial intelligence applied to network management.

This contract adds to a steady growth trajectory in France since the company’s entry into the country in 2019. In just six years, Aqualia has secured contracts in Île-de-France, Brittany, and Eure et Loire, and currently serves nearly 900,000 people across 147 municipalities.
