0ACCIDNTES A research project on new technologies for safety and health in construction with 0 accidents
The “0ACCIDNTES” business consortium, led by FCC Construcción and made up of business partners such as BECSA, FRACTALIA METALICAS PLÁSTICAS JAR, ALISYS, IDP, LIS DATA, SIGNE. has the collaboration of the ITAINNOVA, CETIM and AIMPLAS technology centers and the collaboration of the Spanish Construction Technology Platform (PTEC) and INCOTEC as an external R+D+i consultant.
The idea of the project originated in a working group of PTEC (Construction Technological Platform) and has been consolidated through the Investigation of new technologies for safety and health in construction with 0 accidents. The project has been approved and financed by the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) through the CIEN Strategic Program.
The main objective of the 0ACCIDNTES project is to reduce occupational accidents in Spanish construction through the implementation of 4.0 technologies.

To carry out this project, a consortium of companies with experience in R+D+i and technology has been formed.
FCC Construcción (FCCCO) and BECSA, as leaders in occupational risk prevention in the construction sector, will contribute their extensive experience.
MEPLASJAR, specialized in the manufacture of individual protection equipment, will also participate, collaborating in the design and production of an intelligent protection helmet.
In addition, a group of technology companies have been selected that will work together to create a cognitive platform for the prevention of accidents at work. These companies, such as SIGNE, LIS DATA and ALISYS, will be in charge of research and development tasks related to the generation of hybrid identities, autonomous exploration and information gathering in confined or difficult-to-access environments.
On the other hand, FRACTALIA and IDP will work synergistically to define requirements and design the cognitive digital twin and the comprehensive platform for occupational health and safety.
At the same time, the research organizations involved in the project, ITAINNOVA, CETIM and AIMPLAS, will carry out an ambitious investigation whose main objective is to predict dangers and risks in construction environments through different artificial intelligence techniques and to develop an entire comprehensive sensor system. that allows the collection of information that is identified as relevant in a work environment.

Launch meeting held at the FCC facilities in Madrid.
The objective is to develop a comprehensive cognitive ecosystem for the monitoring and prediction in real time of dangerous situations for the safety and health of construction workers in the 21st century, by conducting research that allows the collection, interpretation, digitization and intelligent and automatic management of the information generated in different construction environments, which will be based on state-of-the-art sensors, autonomous robotic systems, cyber-secure connectivity ecosystems and various elements of artificial intelligence.
To undertake the research and developments considered in the 0ACCIDNTES project, 6 activities have been designed.
The first is aimed at defining and developing the entire sensor system that is required to collect relevant information for the prevention of occupational hazards in construction environments and also the forms of communication and security that this system requires. The next two, activities 2 and 3, focus on researching diverse and multipurpose technological solutions to predict dangerous situations or accident risk. Next, activities 4 and 5 have been designed to define the requirements of the digital twin and the information management platform and, finally, in activity 6 of the project the development of prototypes will be carried out, both of the sensory as of the integral cognitive platform, and its validation of the investigations will be carried out in controlled work environments, in order to be able to evaluate the level of precision of the developed platform.
The lines of research that are considered strategic to be able to develop monitoring systems of high precision and information quality, and predictive tools and models that anticipate and act in changing and dangerous situations are:
1. Research on AI predictive models for early detection of fatigue.
2. Research in intelligent PPE's.

3. Research on shared situational awareness of machines and people.
4. Research on virtual air quality sensors.
5. Research in artificial vision systems for the detection of risks through the identification of objects and/or people and the understanding of scenes.
6. Research on location of people indoors and at heights.
7. Research in digital identity of operators and security digital passport.
8. Research on reliable and secure connectivity scenarios (5G).

The different prototypes will be validated through simulations carried out in controlled construction environments, which allow the identification of weaknesses and limitations of the developments carried out, as well as their solution. The environments chosen to validate the developments carried out will be both in linear works, such as tunnels and/or roads, as well as in vertical works, such as buildings.
