Students from the School of Forestry Engineers visit the Manzanares river renaturation project

The students of the School of Forestry Engineers, visit the renaturation project of the Manzanares river between the Bridge of the French and Queen Victoria Bridge, which develops Matinsa.

The works have consisted of the recovery and conservation, as far as possible, of the function of ecological corridor that the Manzanares River represents as it passes through Madrid in conjunction with upper and lower sections, as well as its enhancement within the urban environment, by dismantling the breakwater in those sections that the structure allows, elimination of non-native species, contributes topsoil in all the longitudinal extension to proceed to the seedling and planting with species riverside natives that allow to evoke the naturalness of a riverside environment. Likewise, the maintenance of said plantations has been carried out through execution of irrigation and replacement of trees.
