Ignacio Sánchez Salinero awarded the AEC medal

The Spanish Road Association (AEC) has awarded the Medal of Honour to Ignacio Sánchez Salinero, Deputy Director General of MATINSA, in recognition of his professional career. The ceremony took place on 10 June in the conference hall of the Professional Association of Civil Engineers of Madrid.

Ignacio has a Doctorate in Civil Engineering (Class of 1978), which he obtained from the Polytechnic University of Madrid; Master's Degree and PhD from the University of Texas at Austin (USA). He is one of our country's first pioneers of comprehensive road conservation, and is considered as one of the most prominent national experts in pavement auscultation and management. He holds extensive experience in this field on both a national and international level.

Ignacio Sánchez Salinero joined MATINSA in 1995 as Head of Department for the Comprehensive Road Conservation for the Ministry of Public Works, Regional Government of Castilla y León, Autonomous Community of Madrid and the Spanish National Company of Toll Motorways, and was appointed Deputy Director General of MATINSA in 2001. He was previously Director General and Member of the Board of Directors at Euroconsult.
