Prince Faisal pays visit to tunnel on line 5 of FCC-led Riyadh Metro project

H.R.H expressed his joy and pride upon observing the current status of the project, which has successfully completed its most critical phase and is estimated to be completed 8 months earlier than the contractual deadline.

During the visit, H.R.H had the opportunity to test run the journey that will be taken by citizens through the line 5 tunnel covering five stations; the station near the Rey Salman airbase; the station at the Saudi Royal Air Force Headquarters; the station close to the Social Security Organisation; the station near to the officers' residence and that which is located close to the Ministry of Defence.

At the end of the journey, a video was presented by Saudi engineers from FAST, ADA and RAMPED in which several specific aspects of the tunnel boring project were visually explained to the visitors.

Prince Faisal mentioned that the number of employees will increase in coming days in order to meet the needs of the project, which currently has 31,000 staff including 7,000 engineers and administration personnel.

He also pointed out that these aspects demonstrate that the project is on the right track, according to its schedule and in line with the development plan of the Saudi capital. He thanked the FAST teams for their hard work and the people of Riyadh for their patience during the execution phases of this large-scale project.
