The European project DigiChecks present at the BDTIC and DBP'24 conferences in Barcelona

The European DigiChecks project, coordinated by FCC Construcción, was present at the Building Digital Twin International Congress (BDTIC) and the Digital Building Permit Conference 2024 (DBP'24). Both events took place at the Col-legi Oficial d'Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC).

The BDTIC conference, which successfully concluded its fourth edition on 17 April, was organised by the Building Digital Twin Association (BDTA), a member of the DigiChecks consortium, and Alberto Crespo, Digital Implementation Coordinator - BIM Management Department, attended and participated on behalf of FCC Construcción. The subsequent DBP'24 conference, which took place on 18-19 April, was organised by EUnet4DBP. This conference focused on digital building permits.

Both conferences provided a platform to showcase the latest developments in digital permitting and facilitated discussions between various stakeholders on how to overcome the challenges of implementing digital solutions in the construction sector.

DBP'24 Conference

Pablo Vicente Legazpi, senior researcher at BDTA, gave a short speech entitled "Methodologies to analyse privacy and intellectual property rights issues in construction permits: BPMN process taxonomy and simulations".

Francisco Javier Díez, researcher at Tekniker, gave a presentation on the DigiChecks project, entitled "Construction Permits and Management Data Space". The presentation showed the architecture of the DigiChecks framework and explained the functioning of the Construction Data Space that is being developed. This data space is based on the architectures of the two most important organisations that are working on the standardisation of the data space; IDSA and GAIA-X.

Emma Nuyts, researcher at Ghent University, discussed the developments of the DigiChecks project, in a presentation entitled "DMN as a visual interface for the creation of building constraints".

Furthermore, Alain Zarli from the European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP) in his keynote speech "ECTP and the Built4People partnership: perspectives on the future digitalisation of construction value chains" highlighted the DigiChecks project for its contribution to the implementation of the principles of the DigiPlace reference platform.

Both conferences highlighted the role of digital technologies in the transformation of the construction industry and also strengthened the collaboration between researchers, industry experts and stakeholders towards the implementation of digital building solutions.
