Collaborative spaces: project for migration to SharePoint 2013

More than 1,000 collaborative sites with information and content regarding corporate areas and business units will be transferred to FCC's new "SharePoint" platform. A more stable and functional environment in line with the technological transformation of the company.

Collaborative spaces: project for migration to SharePoint 2013

Infrastructure work kicked off in late February and the first few collaborative spaces migrated to the new platform were completed throughout May and June (Corporate Areas such as Communication and Medical Services, and Business as is the case of FCC Construcción). Works will continue until late October.

To carry out the migration, the three large blocks that currently make up SharePoint are considered, in terms of content and purpose:

  • Collaborative sites, whose most significant feature is ensuring document management of the Corporate and Business Areas.
  • Applications of specific services such as booking conference rooms or the intranet of Cementos Portland Valderrivas.

Other types of space with more advanced settings.

Additionally, the "Look & Feel" of the platform is renewed and adapted to the corporate brand image, ensuring the continuity of One regarding the internal services provided via the intranet.

The Information Systems area has developed a communication plan for the users directly involved in each migration to be notified in advance, in order to minimise the potential impact of the change.

FCC's new collaborative environment based on SharePoint 2013 will enable the following actions:

  • Updating the document management model on this platform, significantly improving the search and information processing section.
  • Introducing new features with regard to the current model, especially within the scope of collaboration and integration with office tools.
  • We thank users for their support and collaboration in helping to make this initiative fully satisfactory.
