As part of International Construction Week Construtec 2024, FCC Construcción took an active part in the BIMexpo space, where a final day was devoted to successful cases of use of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) methodology.

Laura Aldea Abad, BIM Manager of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium remodelling project, was in charge of presenting the paper entitled ‘From the cloud to the field. Collaboration through OpenBIM in the refurbishment of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium’. During her speech, she highlighted how the implementation of the BIM methodology, and in particular the use of OpenBIM, has facilitated effective collaboration between all those involved throughout the different phases of the project.

The presentation underlined the importance of interoperability and fluid communication between the teams, which has allowed the optimisation of processes and improved efficiency in the execution of the project. ‘The use of OpenBIM has been key to integrating all the actors in the project, ensuring that each phase is developed in a coordinated and effective way,’ said Laura Aldea.
