FCC Construcción participates in the international innovation event IMGIS 2025

FCC Construcción has taken part in the international innovation event IMGIS 2025, held in Frankfurt and organised by ESRI. Esri International Infrastructure Management & GIS Conference is one of the world's largest largest digitalisation and innovation events in the world. 

FCC Construcción was able to showcase the innovative technology and tools innovative tools implemented in the Oporto Metro expansion project

The project represents the largest project of the Recovery and Resilience Plan in Portugal. The contract includes the construction of a new bridge over the Douro River bridge over the Douro River, which will bear the name of ‘Ferreirinha’, in homage to Antónia Ferreinha tribute to D. Antónia Ferreira. The new metro line, with a length of 6.3 kilometres, runs between Casa da Música (Porto) and Santo Ovídio (Vila Nova) stations.

Ovídio (Vila Nova de Gaia) and also includes the construction of three above-ground stations: Arrábida surface stations: Arrábida, Candal and Rotunda; five underground stations: Casa da Música (connection with the existing one), Santo Ovídio (Vila Nova de Gaia) da Música (connection with the existing one), Campo Alegre, Devesas, Soares dos Reis and Santo Ovídio (connection with the existing one).

Santo Ovídio (connection with the existing one); the construction of a car park for 500 vehicles; the connection with the existing one for 500 vehicles; the connection to the Devesas railway station and the construction of several viaducts and the construction of several viaducts and subways for vehicles and people. 

With this new line, Oporto and Gaia are even more connected thanks to a project that will benefit over which will benefit more than one million people, which represents the largest investment made in the investment made in the Metropolitan Area of Porto since the first phase of the Metro's
implementation of the Metro, some 20 years ago.
