FCC Construcción participates in ‘Mission Miami’ organised by the US Embassy in Spain

FCC Construcción took part in ‘Mission Miami’, an event organised by the US Embassy in Spain with the aim of connecting Spanish businesses and companies with activity in Miami, Florida. The event was presided over by the US Ambassador to Spain, Julissa Reynoso, and was attended by the Governor of Florida, the Governor of Miami and the Miami Economic Office. The event was attended by more than 15 companies including Abanca, BBVA, Santander, Ferrovial, FCC Construcción and Cemex.

Florida is the third most populated state in the United States, behind only Texas and California. It is worth noting that the population in Florida has a higher growth rate than the average rate in the US and that its average age is higher than the national average. Florida is the 4th largest economic power in the US after California, Texas and New York. Its GDP accounted for 7.56% of the national GDP in 2022, Florida's nominal GDP per capita in 2022 was $63,081. The construction and real estate sector is closely linked to tourism demand, comprising the largest share of the state's GDP. The state of Florida has presented an infrastructure plan based on water management, new highways and high-capacity rail connections.

In the USA, where FCC Construcción has been operating for more than 20 years, it has branches in Miami and Los Angeles. Since 2007, it has developed several major projects such as the I-95 Managed Lanes highway in Miami, one of the busiest on the US Interstate Highway Network, as well as the Gerald Desmond Bridge in Los Angeles, an infrastructure that replaces the existing bridge. It is the first cable-stayed bridge built in the state of California.
