FCC Construcción actively participates in the Innovation Industry Construction Congress (IC2)

FCC Construcción took part in the Innovation Industry Construction Congress (IC2), held from 1 to 5 June 2026 at the Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander. Furthermore, the company had a physical presence at the FCC Construcción stand, reinforcing its visibility and its role as a key player in the sector’s innovation ecosystem. This international event brought together companies, universities and experts to address key challenges such as sustainability, digitalisation and decarbonisation

In this context, FCC Construcción made a notable contribution, presenting several of its most innovative projects and actively participating in panel discussions focused on innovations in the construction sector. The company also contributed to the strategic debate through the participation of its Director of Sustainability and Innovation, Antonio Burgueño, as a representative on the Sustainability and Decarbonisation panel.

During the various technical sessions, professionals from FCC Construcción presented key initiatives in the field of innovation: 

  • María José Conde Laza presented the OACCIDNTES project (Research into new technologies for health and safety in construction), focused on developing advanced technological solutions to improve occupational risk prevention and reduce accidents on site through innovative control and monitoring systems.
  • María Megino Gómez presented the SOSTEVAL-TEC project, which aims to develop a comprehensive, digital and automated system to assess and improve sustainability across all phases of civil engineering works.
  • José Luis García Roll presented the Alejandría project, designed to harness the knowledge generated in construction projects through digital tools that enable the organisation to organise, share and reuse information.
  • For his part, Óscar Liébana Carrasco presented the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium Refurbishment project, highlighting the technical complexity and iconic nature of the project.

FCC Construcción’s participation in IC2 reinforces its position as a leader in innovation, sustainability and the transformation of the sector, actively contributing to the development of solutions that promote more efficient, safer and environmentally friendly construction.
