FCC Construcción adheres to the CEA Commitment to the Inclusion of Disability in Arbitration and Elimination of Barriers

FCC Construcción has participated in the First CEIA-CiNDA Meeting for the Inclusion of Disability in Arbitration, adhering to the CEA Commitment to the Inclusion of Disability in Arbitration and Elimination of Barriers. The Director of Legal Advisory of the construction area of the FCC Group, Leyre Navarro, collected the certificate and highlighted the importance of this initiative for sustainable and transformative progress towards the inclusion of disability in all the organizational structures of the companies.

For FCC Construcción, the inclusion of disabilities is an essential condition for respect for human rights, sustainable development, peace and security and that respecting the rights of people with disabilities is not only a matter of justice, but an investment in our common future.

The Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club agreed to create the Commission for the Inclusion of Disability in Arbitration and Elimination of Barriers (CiNDA). The Club Commission's objective is to study and analyze the possible changes or measures that are considered necessary and reasonable to introduce in the refereeing community with regard to adaptations or changes in the way of acting, in order to formulate guiding rules and carry out the necessary actions to promote and facilitate the inclusion of people with disabilities in arbitration, without discrimination of any kind.

This implies the identification and elimination of physical barriers that prevent the inclusion of disabled people in the different aspects and responsibilities of arbitration.

FCC Construcción´s adherence to the “CEA Commitment to the Inclusion of Disability in Arbitration and Elimination of Barriers” (Pledge for the Inclusion on Disability in Arbitration and Elimination of Barriers) represents

  1. The promotion and support for the incorporation of people with disabilities in arbitration, without discrimination of any kind.
  2. Elimination of all types of physical barriers to facilitate this full incorporation, as well as implement the technical means that facilitate their inclusion.
  3. Increase in the participation of people with disabilities in the different tasks of arbitration (parties, arbitrators, party lawyers, experts).
  4. Provide the CiNDA annually with information that allows the implementation of a system of reliable statistics provided by all arbitration actors that demonstrate the real degree of compliance with the inclusion policy, and the setting of realistic and weighted quantitative objectives.

Once again, FCC Construcción is positioned as one of the pioneering companies within the sector in equality, inclusion and social and labor awareness of key groups for the organization.
