FCC Construcción analyses energy consumption for the 2024 financial year

FCC Construcción has analysed energy consumption throughout 2024 and successfully carried out representative audits of fixed centres and construction sites with the highest consumption, covering a total of 27 projects and fixed centres, representing 85% of the total. Based on the results, a series of recommendations were made to improve energy efficiency, aimed at optimising energy consumption in the course of our activities.

These proposals cover improvements in energy management, lighting, air conditioning, thermal insulation and fuel use, as well as the implementation of hybrid solar systems to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources.

Some of these measures have been established as future goals. Others are already being implemented, such as:

  • Improvements in energy management. Regular analysis of energy bills, monitoring and control of energy consumption and staff training in energy efficiency are carried out.
  • Installation of photovoltaic plants. Numerous worksites and fixed centres have photovoltaic panels for self-consumption.
  • Improvements in lighting. As one of the objectives of the Sustainability Strategy, conventional lighting is being replaced with LED technology.
  • Optimisation of temperature in air conditioning and DHW.
  • Improvements in fuel use. Through proper equipment maintenance, staff training and awareness, the use of alternative fuels wherever possible, and consumption monitoring and control.
  • Thanks to the environmental objectives set out in the Sustainability Strategy, together with the measures implemented through Energy Audits, FCC Construcción continuously improves its energy efficiency every year.
