FCC Construcción has been present at the presentation of the construction project for the new hospital in Puertollano, in Ciudad Real. The event was attended by the Minister Spokesperson of the Government, the President of the Castilla La Mancha Community Board, the president of the Ciudad Real Provincial Council, as well as various civil and military authorities.
FCC Construcción won the construction contract for the new hospital in Puertollano last February. A project that has an amount of 116 million euros and an execution period of 43 months.
The project has a total built area of 49,517.36 square meters, to which must be added another 28,000 square meters for parking and garden areas.
It has a semi-basement floor with a car park, while the ground floor will house the Emergencies, the Diagnostic Imaging area, Admission and Clinical Documentation, Pharmacy, Day Hospital, Rehabilitation, Mental Health, kitchen, extractions, cafeterias, among others. other dependencies.
On the other hand, the first floor will house the Surgical Block, Post-anesthetic Resuscitation, Management and Direction, IT, Laboratories, ICU, Surgical Day Hospital, consultations and cabinets; while the second and third floors will be dedicated to hospitalizations, whose rooms will be individual with dual-use capacity.
With respect to the current hospital, the new facilities will increase areas and services. Thus, the Consultation Area, which currently has 30 premises, will increase to 70, including 14 for Mental Health.
The Hospitalization Area will have 170 beds, 11 of them from the ICU, compared to the current 139, with six from the ICU. On the other hand, the new hospital will have eight operating rooms, compared to the current five, and will also have a Post-Anesthetic Resuscitation Unit, with a total of twelve posts plus three posts for patients in isolation.
Likewise, the Emergency Department of the new hospital will have 18 boxes compared to the current eight and 20 observation posts compared to the current ten. In the Obstetric Block, the current two conventional delivery rooms will be converted to a conventional delivery room, plus a dilation room convertible to a delivery room and an obstetric operating room.
Finally, the Day Hospital Area will have 50 positions compared to the current 14, including beds and armchairs in the surgical day hospital, polyvalent doctor and oncohematology. Of these positions, three will be isolation and correspond to the surgical day hospital.
The new Puertollano Hospital will expand its portfolio of services with the incorporation of the specialty of Medical Oncology. In addition, the Palliative Care Unit will have larger single rooms, larger toilets and a specific family room.
