FCC Construccion completes the construction of the pedestrian path between the beaches of Fuentebravía and Las Redes (Cádiz)
FCC Construccion and Matinsa have completed the construction of a pedestrian path between the beaches of Fuentebravía and Las Redes, in El Puerto de Santa Maria (Cádiz). The works have had a budget of 802,000 euros and a deadline of five months.
The objective has been to allow transit on foot or by bicycle along the coastal front of the municipality of El Puerto de Santa María. This path runs parallel to Santa Catalina beach, built on the existing masonry wall at the back of it and will have a length slightly greater than 1,117 meters between both ends. The start of the trail takes place in Punta Bermeja, connecting with the existing promenade, and ends at the confluence roundabout of the Aegean Sea, Adriatic Sea, Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean streets.
The path has a total width of 3.0 m, which allows to have a free width between handrails of 2.72 m. The longitudinal profile of the path does not exceed 6% of maximum slope. It has side rails. At the beginning and end of the trail there are transition ramps between the land and the wooden structure.
The project has also included complementary actions such as the partial demolition of the esplanade and existing wall in the access to the beach from the city, the spread of sand along the Santa Catalina beach and the reordering of spaces in the esplanade of The networks. It also includes the installation of several accesses to the beach and a new wall giving continuity to the existing, surrounding the new configuration on the beach floor, as well as the restoration of it with installation of a wooden railing.
It has also included the installation of the lighting, the replacement of the supply, sanitation and low voltage services and the conditioning as a park of part of the municipal ownership plot located next to the parking lot of the Mar Egeo street.
