The Scarborough Subway Extension SRS project will be built by Scarborough Transit Connect, a consortium formed by Aecon and FCC Canada. Scarborough Transit Connect was previously selected by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario for the collaborative development phase of the initial design and construction project.
The Scarborough Subway Extension SRS project will extend Toronto Transit Commission Line 2 service by nearly eight kilometres into Scarborough. It will run from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing fast and seamless transit for those travelling to the city centre and within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to employment, schools and other key destinations in the city.
