FCC Construcción wins the expansion contract for the Fira de Barcelona

FCC Construcción, in consortium with COMSA, wins the contract to expand the Fira de Barcelona. The project consists of the construction of the new pavilion of the L'Hospitalet de Llobregat fair complex.

The project has an amount of 44.7 million euros and an execution period of 17 months. Its scope covers an underground area of 23,822 square meters, which will include galleries and technical rooms, warehouses, parking and rainwater recovery tanks, among other facilities.

In total, the expansion project of the Gran Via fairgrounds will represent an investment of 201 million euros and will be partially financed with a loan of 110 million from the European Investment Bank (EIB). With this investment, the complex will gain 60,000 square meters of surface area, bringing the total surface area of Gran Via to 300,000 square meters.

With the expansion, Fira de Barcelona aspires to capture new events and will be able to hold several shows simultaneously. Pavilion 0 will consist of two floors for exhibition activities and congresses and an adjoining building for offices and services of the Barcelona fair institution.
