To fulfill this task, it will have two operating rooms, a primary care emergency service (SUAP) and a 061 base, a mental health and physiotherapy unit. Likewise, it will house an area of specialties where the consultations of Otorhinolaryngology, General Surgery, Traumatology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine and Endocrinology will be located, as well as those of polyvalent consultations.
In addition, it will have a women's care unit with midwife consultations and a lactation education room, a gynecological-obstetric unit, a surgical area, a radiology area with a mammograph, CT and ultrasound. It will also have a device for displaced people with two family doctor's offices and two nursing ones. In addition to the more than 35,000 inhabitants of the two basic health areas of Águilas, the new center will cover specific care for users who travel to this municipality for tourism. The Águilas high-resolution center will be the first in the network of this type of healthcare structures that will gradually be implemented in the Region. They are centers designed to provide a more effective solution to the demands of users of the health system, and avoid appointments and trips by having in the same center the spaces and equipment necessary to carry out the diagnostic tests involved in the most frequent processes.
