FCC Construcción wins the construction contract for Novo Chuac (Galicia)
FCC Construcción has won the construction contract for the Novo Chuac multipurpose tower (Galicia). The contract has an execution period of 18 months and a budget of more than 33 million euros.
This new building will be the first phase of the future health complex. Its function will be to manage the entire healthcare complex and serve as a link between the new facilities that will be built together with the existing infrastructure on the west side through an elevated walkway.
The building, with a rectangular floor plan of 4,500 square meters, will have a total of 12,300 square meters of constructed area and 8,260 of useful area, distributed over 16 floors, of which three will be below ground. Levels 0, 1 and 2 will house facilities, level 3 will be dedicated to IT, floors 4, 5 and 6 will be used for access, between levels 7 and 12 the management, administration and laboratory facilities will be centralized; The 13th floor will house the patient hotel, which will have 14 rooms, and the last one, the 15th, will house the air conditioning facilities.
The tower will have two differentiated entrances to guarantee better functionality: one entrance will serve hotel users, patients and administrative staff, with a covered area that will form a large arcade, and another will be reserved for healthcare professionals, who will have a plaza for public use and green areas.
The building will be executed with a construction system that can be adapted to new environmental needs, following energy efficiency criteria from the thermal, lighting and water management point of view, prioritizing low consumption with saving devices, and using local and recyclable materials.
