FCC Construcción wins the contract to reform the Santiago Bernabéu stadium

The Board of Directors of Real Madrid C. F., which met last May 8, 2019, decided to award the tender for the execution of the remodeling works of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium to the company FCC Construcción. The bid evaluation report of the contest issued by the independent engineering firm, Ayesa, hired by the club, has qualified this offer as the most economical, with the shortest execution time, and with a constructive system that minimizes the inconvenience to operability of the stadium and the surroundings.

The commitment for the remodeling of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium is 39 months, so it will be completed in August 2022, extending four more months for the exterior urbanization of the stadium.

The contest began on October 30, 2018 with the invitation to the most important Spanish construction companies, Dragados excluded in compliance with the club's code of ethics. Real Madrid highlights that all the proposals presented have shown a high technical level and competitive economic conditions.

The execution of the works will be compatible with the celebration of the sports calendar matches and with the maintenance of the usual activities of the stadium: Tour Bernabéu, official shop, restaurants, etc...

The awarding of the Contract for the Execution of Remodeling Works of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, together with the closing of the financing agreed on last April 12, allow the works to begin immediately.
