FCC Construcción, Matinsa and FCC Industrial took part in the VI Road Tunnel Symposium: "Explotación Sostenible de Túneles" (Sustainable Operation of Tunnels) held in Zaragoza on 11, 12, and 13 March.

FCC Construcción, Matinsa and FCC Industrial take part in the VI Road Tunnel Symposium

Different issues were addressed in this professional forum, including various efficient actions which improve tunnel safety, as well as the revision and update of techniques, practices and management methods to achieve the effective operation of tunnels.

The congress was attended by more than 600 specialist engineers.

As part of the forum, FCC Construcción presented the project covering the Control Centre building, as well as the main Monrepós tunnels. FCC Industrial implemented the electromechanical facilities and control systems in the tunnels, as well as the complex integration and management of the Control Centre using the technology platform AVANZA. Matinsa is currently responsible for the maintenance of the A-23 motorway and linking tunnels.

A technical visit to the Control Centre and main tunnels was carried out during the workshop on 12 March. This visit proved to be a success for the Ministry and for companies belonging to the FCC Group involved in the Monrepós project.
