FCC Construcción obtains the CO2 Performance Ladder certificate
FCC Construcción has obtained the CO2 Performance Ladder Level 5 certificate in the A9 highway expansion project, which it is executing through the Vennix consortium, in Amsterdam (Netherlands).
The "CO2 performance ladder" is a sustainability tool for the company in the A9 motorway expansion project to learn about and reduce its CO2 emissions.
Through this certification, the company is committed to saving energy, the efficient use of materials and the implementation of sustainable energy use policies. It will also ensure that its subcontractors and suppliers implement actions to reduce CO2 emissions within their activity in the project.
FCC has opted for the implementation of level 5, once again demonstrating its commitment to sustainability. Obtaining this level requires a series of requirements, raised from these perspectives: knowledge, emission reduction, transparency, participation
The "CO2 performance ladder" will allow the company, within the construction project, to structure the internal processes of project execution around energy saving and CO2 reduction, for which sustainability reports focused on CO2 will be prepared.
It is a way to reduce costs due to the use of recycled, more sustainable and economic materials, as well as to recognize opportunities in business operations and in the supply chain. The company has drawn up specific Plans and Procedures in order to obtain the commitment of all project management areas.
FCC Construcción continues to be a company pioneer in terms of sustainability. Obtaining this certificate shows the commitment of the company and all the members of the A9 expansion project team to sustainability.
