FCC Construcción chairs the Technical Committee "Hydrological Planning Activities" of the Spanish National Committee of Large Dams, which was established in December 2007. This Committee is responsible for hydrological planning and integrated management of water resources, acting as a mirror of the International Technical Committee "International Committee on Engineering Activities Associated with the Planning Process" of the International Commission of Large Dams (ICOLD - CIGB).

Since the creation of the committee, FCC Construcción has promoted the preparation of specialized documentation in the field of hydrological planning and integrated management of water resources, as well as the periodic organization of conferences and technical conferences related to topics of interest proposed by the own Committee or demanded by the sector.

Currently, the Technical Committee "Activities of the engineer in planning of water resources" is working throughout 2019 to prepare a document on the governance of dams and reservoirs and to organize a day of dissemination of it.

For this, as a previous step, FCC Construcción organized, on Tuesday, June 11, a workshop of experts of great relevance in the sector, who contributed their experience and perspective to the matter. The experts discussed aspects such as water security, the safety of infrastructures, their role in the face of climate change, the environmental pressure of reservoirs, the cost of reservoirs and their recovery or participation in the governance process, among others.

Among the personalities that visited the company's headquarters, the deputy general director of planning and sustainable use of water of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition, the president of the hydrographic confederation of the Tagus, the director of the hydrographic studies center of CEDEX, the director technical staff of the Ebro hydrographic confederation, among other personalities.

The Spanish National Committee of Great Dams, since its creation by the Ministerial Order of December 28, 1955, a collegiate body of the General State Administration, integrated as one of the National Committees of the International Commission of Large Dams. FCC Construcción is represented in several Technical Committees of the CNEGP through professionals, who contribute their knowledge to the development of the purposes of the Committee, such as the promotion of the construction of large dams within the framework of sustainable water development, promotion of the investigation on the environmental affections of the prey, the contribution to the improvement of the technique and security of the big dams or the exchange of knowledge and the coordination between organisms and related companies.
