FCC Construcción participates actively at COP25 in Madrid.

The Conference of the Convention of United Nations on Climate Change was adopted in New York on May 9, 1992 with the aim of strengthening awareness public, worldwide, of the problems related to climate change.

This summit is the last meeting to activate the Paris Agreement, which has to be fully in force in January 2020 and which, signed in 2015 at COP21, is the largest binding agreement against the climate crisis. Establish a global action plan for limit global warming well below 2 degrees and continue efforts so that it does not exceed 1.5 degrees.

Initially, the country designated to host this summit was Brazil, but withdrew its commitment after the electoral victory of Jair Bolsonaro. Chile was then chosen as alternative, but the social outbreak that the country is experiencing has motivated its president, Sebastián Piñera, announce the resignation of the organization. October 31 Spain offered to Chile to celebrate the climate summit and two days later, on the 2nd of November, the Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC approved to the celebration of the event in Madrid.

  • December 10: blue zone. Accelerating Action to Build a Resilient 1.5º World. Francisco Esteban Lefler, technical director of SSTT of FCC Construcción y president of PIANC.

It is necessary to emphasize that no Spanish construction company has been able to present nor participate in any roundtable in the blue restricted area.
