FCC Construcción participates in the event “Peru: modalities of public-private investment and presentation of portfolio of public sector projects”

The meeting has been organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid. The event was attended by companies with an active presence in Peru, as well as the head of internationalization of the company of the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid, and the economic and commercial advisor of the Embassy of Peru.

In 2018, Peru's economy grew 4.1%, an upward trend in which the country has been in the last decade. One of the reasons is the strengthening of domestic demand, motivated by public investment and the recovery of private investment.

Imports from Peru increased 10.7% between January 2018 until January 2019 and are expected to continue increasing during the current year. In fact, the government of Peru considers that 2019 will be the year of economic takeoff, since, according to its forecasts, GDP will increase again by 4%, one of the highest in the continent.

The country is home to several projects, including plans related to sanitation and water, road and bridge infrastructure or the construction of hospitals and schools, to which the administration will dedicate $ 12 billion. Other opportunities could derive from the Reconstruction with Changes program to counteract the damage caused by natural disasters that will last until 2021, from the celebration in Peru of the 2019 Pan American Games and from the recent publication of the National Infrastructure Plan, which Prioritizes 52 investment projects worth more than $ 30,000 million to close social gaps.

FCC Construction in Peru

FCC Construcción currently develops a key transport infrastructure. Line 2 and the Branch of Line 4 of the Lima and Callao Metro will be Peru's first underground and fully automatic mass transportation.

It is estimated that Line 2 and Branch Line 4 of the Lima and Callao Metro will bring the destinations of more than 660 thousand passengers a day, benefiting 2.5 million people along 35 kilometers and 10 districts: Ate, Santa Anita, El Agustino, San Luis, La Victoria, Cercado, Breña, Bellavista, Carmen de la Legua and El Callao.

The trains will travel at a maximum speed of 90 km / h and their automatic operation will provide a significant improvement in terms of efficiency, with intervals between trains of 1.5 minutes and almost zero accident possibilities.

This work will contribute significantly to vehicular decongestion and environmental care (0% of polluting gases), making it the effective and sustainable environment that the city of Lima needs.
