FCC Construcción has participated in the VII Tunnel Symposium promoted by the Ministry of Fomento.

These days began 25 years ago, where the Technical Workshops on tunnels "Safety in Construction and in Service" were held in Gijón, which subsequently, given the success of participation and the quality of the presentations, was organized National Tunnel Symposium The city chosen in this edition was Barcelona, given the push that is taking place in the county capital in the construction of the tunnels of the Plaza de Glorias, in which FCC Construcción participates.

The Symposium dealt with aspects related to safety, improvement in exploitation, conservation, repair, new technologies, risk analysis, evacuation systems, simulations, emergencies, sustainability, ... matters that still many of them are in force and full news but that because of the updating of much of the regulations and the new and greater demands of users make it advisable to continue debating in them.

FCC Construcción, participated through the Túneles de Vallirana project, showing the Symposium's visitors the technical complexity of the project as well as its temporal evolution. The works of the Vallirana Variation, of 2400 meters in length, include a tunnel of two tubes, one for each direction of circulation, of 1400 meters in length each.

In addition, the project includes two links: Link Vallirana Oeste connection with the CN-340 on the Tarragona side and Link Vallirana East connection with the "Cervelló variant", on the Barcelona side.

This action will offer an alternative route to the more than 18,000 vehicles that on average circulate daily on the N-340 highway crossing in Vallirana.
