FCC Construccion participates in the breakfast-colloquium "Panama: access platform to Latin America"

The construction area of the FCC Group has participated in the breakfast-colloquium "Panama: access platform to Latin America" organized by Expansión and Instituto de Empresa (Ie). The event, held on November 15, had the presence and intervention of Carlos Rubio, Minister of Government of Panama and President of the Board of Directors of the Transit and Land Transportation Authority and Milton Cohen-Henríquez, Ambassador Republic of Panama in Spain. During the last decade, Panama has been one of the fastest growing economies in the world. The average annual growth was 5.6% in the last five years. It is expected that Panama's growth will remain among the highest in Latin America in the medium term.

The geographical location of Panama, together with the expansion and continuous development of large infrastructures, motivate both nationals and foreigners to see the country as a large center with potential for distribution to the markets of the United States, Canada and Latin America. According to the Minister of Commerce of Panama, the most outstanding business opportunities in the country are in the infrastructure, environment, water and waste treatment sectors, among others.

According to the International Monetary Fund, Spain ranks sixth in the ranking of foreign investment received by Panama. Currently, a total of 104 Spanish companies operate in Panama, thanks to the existing legal security, the strategic situation, a great air and maritime connectivity and an important telecommunications hub.

FCC Construccion was represented by Jose Maria Torroja, Area Director America, who exhibited, under the title "successful experience of a Spanish company in Panama", the main strengths of the country as well as the most representative projects executed by FCC Construccion in the country Central American.

FCC Construccion started operating in Panama in 1996 to offer its engineering, construction and civil construction services. The proven experience of FCC Construccion has made him participate in the largest engineering projects in the country. Highlights include works such as: Line 1 of the Panama metro, the first metro in Central America, works for the expansion of the Panama Canal (PAC 4) and the Hospital Center Luis 'Chicho' Fábrega. Currently, FCC is building Line 2 of the Metro and the City of Health.
