FCC Construcción participated in the informative breakfast and in the business meeting between Spain and the United Arab Emirates, organized by CEOE and ICEX.
The signing of the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between Spain and the UAE was presented at the breakfast held by the New Economy Forum and at the business meeting.
This is the first memorandum signed with the UAE in these matters and will serve to strengthen and facilitate relations between both countries, as well as to show mutual support in international organizations. In both meetings the leadership of the Spanish railway industry has been manifested, in view of the investing effort that your country is making in the development of the railway and facilities of the next Universal Exhibition 2020. There has been an interest in the development of projects, such as the Railroad of the Gulf or the extension of the metro of Dubai.
In terms of road infrastructure, highly developed in the UAE, all Spanish concession companies have been shown to be the best in the world and models of a comprehensive conservation contract have been offered within the public-private collaboration system.
Finally, in the airport area, the interest to participate in the different projects carried out in the UAE has been shown.
The Minister of Development of Infrastructures of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdullah Al Nuaimi, has highlighted the UAE's investment plan as well as the need to count on Spanish companies for the development of the country's infrastructure. He also announced the promotion of a joint Chamber of Commerce with Spain to help companies in both countries to know how to do business and what projects can be contemplated jointly.
In this regard, he stressed that the relationship began about 40 years ago and valued the quality of Spanish products. To do this, he gave as an example the fact that one of the first products was the telescopic runways of the airports, which, although they were installed more than 35 years ago, still operate today.
Regarding the future possibilities for Spanish companies in the Arab Emirates, he pointed out that the country wants to promote intermodality between the different means of transport, having already achieved high-quality infrastructures on roads, railways and ports.
Therefore, after giving "welcome" to Spanish companies that want to promote projects in their country, said that "we want to collaborate with partners around the world to identify sustainable technologies and to unite these different types of transport."
"We do not put limits beyond the sky when it comes to collaborating with partners such as Spain," said the Emirati minister, before concluding that "we build the country on the basis of the best products and the best quality and we have seen that the Spanish companies give us that quality. "
