The construction area of the FCC Group has participated in the forum "The dimension of disability in the sustainable development goals of the United Nations", organized by the Insert Forum of the ONCE Foundation and the CERMI, with the support of the Chamber of Trade of Cantabria and Forética.

The conference, held on May 9 at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria, aims to analyze how the Sustainable Development Goals are focused on companies and, specifically, those linked to disability. In this framework, the keys to the integration of disability within the SDGs and the plans developed by the companies were studied, including as a reference FCC Construcción.

FCC Construction and the SDGs

FCC Construcción adhered to the United Nations Global Compact in 2004. As a founding member of the Spanish Global Compact Network, it has participated in its activities since its inception, in order to share good practices that promote the implementation of the Ten Principles.

FCC Construcción contributes directly to the achievement of the following Sustainable Development Goals:

• SDG 9: executing sustainable infrastructures that support the social welfare and economic development of the communities.
• SDG 11: building more sustainable and resilient cities in the face of global change.
• SDG 12: generating a culture of resource reuse, waste reduction and responsible consumption.
• SDG 13: achieving a low carbon economy, reducing emissions in our works and adopting less polluting practices.

FCC Construcción considers it essential to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and to act as a dynamic agent and transmitter of the initiative among the various internal and external interest groups of the organization.
