FCC Construccion participates in the II Congress "SDGs What we still have to do"

FCC Construccion participates in the 2nd "SDGs that remains to be done" Congress, organized by Unesa. In Congress, the need for governments, companies and institutions to create alliances to achieve the full integration of the Sustainable Development Goals in Society has been highlighted.

In the inauguration, the ambassador of Spain, Juan Francisco Montalbán, for the 2030 agenda has stressed that "our mission is a country mission, in which all agents must be involved, from the central administration to the autonomous communities and municipalities , going through the political parties and, of course, without forgetting the business sector, which is making a great effort ".

On the other hand, the president of the Spanish Network of the Global Compact, Ángel Pes, presented, in the first place, the data of the observatory that Caixabank is carrying out together with ESADE, in which it is clear that "the SDGs are not very present in the annual reports of Spanish listed companies, although it is true that energy and oil is one of the sectors where there is a greater proportion of companies that provide non-financial information ".

FCC Construccion, participated through Antonio Burgueño, director of Quality and Corporate Social Responsibility, in the round table in which he shared the experience of FCC in the incorporation of the SDGs to the business objectives and what this is assuming.

FCC Construccion adhered to the United Nations Global Compact in 2004. As a founding member of ASEPAM, it has participated in its activities since the beginning, in order to share good practices that promote the implementation of the Ten Principles.

FCC Construccion contributes directly to the achievement of the following Sustainable Development Goals:

SDGs 9: executing sustainable infrastructures that support the social welfare and economic development of the communities.
SDGs 11: building more sustainable and resilient cities in the face of global change.
SDGs 12: generating a culture of resource reuse, waste reduction and responsible consumption.
SDGs 13: achieving a low carbon economy, reducing emissions in our works and adopting less polluting practices.

From FCC Construccion it is considered essential to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and act as a dynamic agent and transmitter of the initiative among the various internal and external interest groups of the organization. Therefore, we want to make our employees aware of the Sustainable Development Goals and what FCC Construcción is committed to.
