FCC Construcción takes part in the second edition of Work Experience Kensington School (WEKS)
FCC Construcción has taken part in the second Work Experience Kensington School (WEKS). The main objective of WEKS is to introduce students in the first year of high school to the world of work by means of a day's visit to a company. In this case, the students visited the Machinery Park. The aim is to broaden the pupils' vision and to introduce them to the proximity of the access and environment of a future professional job. The discovery internships allow them to test their desire to choose a career for the next year. It is an opportunity to make a first approach to the sectors of activity that they might like.
The students were able to see the maintenance and operation of the company's machinery and auxiliary equipment. They saw the different strategic special machines (tunnel boring machines, self-launching formwork, floating docks, blondines, track machinery, etc.) as well as other more common equipment (aggregate, agglomerate and concrete plants, pavers, tower cranes, auxiliary means, etc.).
The aim of this type of action is to promote teaching methodologies that favour the contact of students with the reality of work, with the companies in each sector and with the works, encouraging the development of competences and skills that, together with the theoretical knowledge of the different areas, generate a student body prepared to face different work challenges and to enter the labour market immediately.
