FCC Construcción participates in the round table “the leadership of Spanish companies in the 2030 Agenda”
FCC Construcción has participated in the round table “the leadership of Spanish companies in the 2030 Agenda”, organized by the Spanish Network of the Global Compact, in which FCC Construcción is a member.
On the day, the Spanish Network of the Global Compact presented its publication SDG Year 4. Corporate Leadership in the 2030 Agenda, from theory to action that collects more than 150 quantifiable commitments from Spanish companies in SDGs, and statements by some of the CEOs and most relevant corporate presidents nationwide.
The event featured speakers such as: CEO Endesa, CEO Siemens, CEO Atrevia, President of Adif, executive director of the Spanish Network of the Global Compact, the director general of the United Nations and Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. FCC Construcción, was represented on the day by the Director of Spain and Portugal, and the industrial area of FCC Construcción. At the round table, the focus was placed on business leadership as a lever to accelerate the transformations required by the 2030 Agenda, as well as the economic opportunities existing within the framework of the United Nations. The year 2019 marks a turning point for the new decade, to definitively activate the transition from theory to action among Spanish companies in the contribution to the SDGs.
FCC Construcción, committed to sustainability
FCC Construcción has been the first Spanish construction company to verify the greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) emissions report by an external entity. It has also been the first Spanish construction company to obtain the certificate of the Carbon Footprint “Environment CO2”.
In 2018, FCC Construcción has developed more than 50 corporate social responsibility actions, which culminated this year with the company's certification in the collaborative relations standard, being the first Spanish company to implement this international standard.
