FCC Construcción has actively participated in the annual United Nations Leaders Summit event. Specifically, María Carrasco, CFO of FCC Construcción, was present as a speaker at EMBRACING SYSTEMIC CHANGES IN CORPORATE FINANCE FOR THE AGENDA 2030.

The session featured a selection of companies from the SDG CFO Coalition. María Carrasco explained the commitment to align investments and corporate financing with the SDGs by 2030.

In addition, he was able to present the company's recent membership in Foward Faster, a private sector accelerator to meet the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fulfill the 2030 Agenda. The Forward Faster initiative of the United Nations Global Compact encourages business leaders around the world to take measurable, credible and ambitious actions in areas that have the power to accelerate progress on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals where the private sector can collectively achieve the greatest and fastest impact by 2030.

The SDG Progress Report released earlier this year by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres showed that only 15 percent of the Sustainable Development Goal targets are on track, progress on 48 percent are weak and insufficient and progress has stalled or regressed on 37 percent of the SDGs.

FCC Construcción is committed, within the area of action of Finance and investments, to these two objectives:

Align corporate investment, to the greatest extent possible, with SDG policies and strategies, and set targets, track and report on the amount and proportion of such investments in the SDGs.
Establish a corporate financing strategy that is linked to SDG investments and performance, and report on financing and the proportion of such financing to the SDGs.
