FCC Construcción participates in the conference "Information Production. CDE according to ISO 1965" organised by the Association of Public Works Technical Engineers in Madrid

FCC Construcción took part in the workshop "Information Production. CDE according to ISO 1965" organised by the Association of Public Works Technical Engineers in Madrid. FCC Construcción presented the work carried out in the Common Data Environment (CDE) on the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium remodelling project (Madrid, Spain). Laura Aldea Abad, BIM Manager of the project, explained the use of the CDE under the BIM methodology and according to ISO 19650 from the beginning after the awarding of the work to the development and use within the work itself.

At the same time, a round table was held with the participation of María Benítez (ISDEFE Architecture and BIM Coordinators), Jorge Torrico (INECO BIM Deputy Manager), Javier Lozano (ADIF BIM and Digital Continuity Deputy Manager), Marta Terrero (BIM Development in AENA Infrastructures) and Laura Aldea Abad (BIM Bernabéu Manager at FCC Construcción), in which each gave their vision of the use of CDE.

FCC Construcción continues to be a pioneer in digitalisation and in the use of BIM methodology in projects.

Madrid leads investment in BIM tenders in Spain

In 2023, the valuation of BIM aspects was at an all-time high, accounting for 11% of the total tender score in contracts relating to the work execution and design phase. Specifically, Madrid is the autonomous community that has invested the most in tenders with BIM requirements, with a total of 791.16 million euros. A figure that is constantly on the rise, given that since 2018 it has increased by more than 700 million euros. Data that, moreover, supports the needs predicted by the latest EUBIM Task Group report.

According to the publication, wider adoption of BIM is predicted to generate savings of between 15% and 25% in the global infrastructure market by 2025. In addition, the digitisation of engineering, construction and operation processes will lead to a 30% reduction in waste. Furthermore, according to the results obtained from the BIM report of the Interministerial Commission, by 2023, 100% of the Autonomous Communities will have matched or increased the number of tenders with BIM requirements.
